International influences

Despite all the singular national characteristics, the streets of many European cities nowadays display multicultural features. Languages reflect the diverse cultural imports. Terms like coffee, artichoke and apricot bear witness to Arab influence, for example. Europe's colonies in Africa, Asia and South America also bring new ideas to the "old" continent.
