The "Bridge of Unity"

The border bridge, which had previously been closed, was reopened when the Wall came down. It not only symbolises German unity but also stands for the opening of the entire eastern Bloc. The "Iron Curtain" which divided Europe during the Cold War may have disappeared, but the process of reunification is making only slow progress in people's minds.
