Adenauer- European statesman

Interest in the first Federal German Chancellor extended far beyond the boundaries of Europe: countries in Africa like the People's Republic of Benin (formerly Dahomey) dedicated postage stamps to Adenauer in recognition of his historic achievements. He is regarded as one of Europe's greatest statesmen of the 20th century and his commitment to European integration is still remembered around the world.
