Cultural exchange

When Europeans began to explore overseas territories in the 16th century, they also took their own way of life with them to the "new" world, thus spreading European culture throughout Africa, Asia and America. Much evidence of this influence still remains today. But they also brought influences and objects of foreign cultures back with them to Europe where they were frequently integrated into European civilisation.
