Exhibition at a glance: The permanent exhibition “Division and Unity, Dictatorship and Resistance” focuses on the history of dictatorship and resistance in the Soviet occupation zone and the former East Germany, offering an insight into the courage of those opposing the decades of SED party dictatorship. Our guided tour takes you back in time from the end of the Second World War in 1945 to the fall of the Wall in 1989 and life now in a reunified Germany. What was daily life in East Germany really like? Which events shaped the relationship between the SED regime and the people?
Guided tours in English every Tuesday and Saturday at 2 p.m. – no prior registration is required. Groups of more than 15 people may book a guided group tour. Please contact our Visitor Services Office.
