Yes, you can safely store your coats, bags and rucksacks in one of the lockers.

Please leave heavy coats and jackets, rucksacks, umbrellas and other bulky items in a cloakroom locker. Feel free to take a light jacket, walking frame or small handbag with you into the exhibition. If you are uncertain, ask one of the wardens what is OK to keep with you. 

Photographing and filming in the exhibition spaces is allowed for private use; please note that no flash photography, other lights, tripods or selfie sticks are allowed. Visitors must uphold the copyright and usufruct to the photographs and films. In certain cases (e.g., protection of persons or exhibits) photography or filming for private purposes may also be forbidden. In cases of doubt, the wardens’ word is final. Any photographs or film footage taken for commercial purposes or for publication will be assessed on a case-by-case basis and is permissible subject to approval by the museum administration. No, smoking is forbidden throughout the museum.

You may take an animal into the museum (e.g., the lobby), but not into the exhibition. Exceptions are guide dogs and assistance dogs.

On a guided visit, a group of visitors is shown round the exhibition by a guide. You can take part in public guided visits or book a guided visit for a larger group of 15 or more participants in advance.

You may consume food or beverages in the lobby, but not in the exhibition spaces. 

We are unfortunately unable to offer an audio guide at present. However, there are numerous educational services available to support your visit to the permanent exhibition or temporary exhibition.

Our museum is accessible to everyone. We still recommend wearing a mouth-nose mask.

The museum is located in Leipzig city centre and is only 10 minutes’ walk from the main railway station.

To protect the safety of the other visitors and the exhibits, their use is not allowed in the museum.
