What gets collected and why? How do you find out whether an item such as the famous “Schabowski Note” is genuine? How do the restorers work?

These are the sort of questions that we explore together from 14 March onwards on our guided visits of the museum storage rooms at the Haus der Geschicht

On public and bookable guided visits, guests can look forward to seeing important objects and learning their histories, such as the alien from the eponymous film or a “Starfighter” ejector seat. You’ll see ad signs and electronic appliances, machines, sculptures, one-arm bandits and pinball machines, all of which tell stories.

Bookable guided visits are available every hour on the hour between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
